Long time no blog… I’ve been a busy bee interviewing amazing people (more to follow about that!) and making videos for your enjoyment and delight.
But now the time has come to share some very exciting news with all of you!
I am attempting a Guinness World Record by running the most consecutive half marathon distances by a female. I will start on 22 September 2020 which is World Rhino Day and continue until 22 November 2020.
I even had this really cool logo done by my good friend Kat Wilkinson… a graphic designer to die for!
So this Run Wild for Rhino “expedition” is not simply about setting a new Guinness World Record. It is actually ALL about creating massive awareness for the crisis our rhinos are facing in terms of not only poaching, but now also the lockdown of all tourism activities. Our travel and tourism industry is in dire straights guys. Game reserves are battling to protect their rhinos as some of them cannot pay their protection units… this is a bad and sad state of affairs.
Furthermore I aim to raise a minimum of R62 000.00 for the OLLI foundation (One Land Love It) during this 62 day period, thus R1000.00 per day. Please note that 100% of all funds raised go directly to the foundation.
Now you may ask: “But how?” Well, I will be approaching various businesses in Port Elizabeth where my “expedition” will take place and offer them one full day of extensive promotion on social media complete with tagging, promotions and interviews on Facebook and the likes.
For that day the run will start and finish at that particular business and I will run loops around the business so that we create a buzz. The life size fiber glass rhino, OLLI will also be in attendance and we will be running a “where in the world is OLLI today” campaign to attract people (potential customers) to the business of the day.
I will am also reaching out to high profile people to run with me, either in person or virtually where we will link up on Facebook during the run and these high profile people will also promote the various businesses and give shout outs on social media.
More will follow! If however you are keen on having your business featured please get hold of me on email@example.com to make the necessary arrangements.
