Hey Guys and Gals
Long time no blog! So much to do and tell and so little time – LOL!
I have to share something before I get into how awesome my Berlin trip was… On 27 December 2018 I attended my first ever guided meditation with my friend Lee Morgutti (check her our on http://www.leemorgutti.co.za/)
One of the things I did was to put my intentions “out there” very clearly, and one of these was to travel – anywhere, anytime, all the time! I focused on these intentions quite deliberately and added them to my vision board for 2019.
Well, in February I got a surprising call from Eastern Cape Tourism with regards to the fact the SA Tourism needed someone to represent Bay TV at the ITB International Tourism Trade Show… in Berlin, Germany!!! And the rest is history.
Now suffice to say that Germany was NOT on my bucket list but one never declines any form of international travel – EVER!
So I set off from Port Elizabeth to OR Tambo International on Monday, 4 March. Got to OR Tambo and had some time to kill, but I was soon joined by the rest of the delegation – the 2 x Tsepo’s, Dinika, Liabo, Lameez and our hostess Thandiwe. Thankfully we all hit it off immediately and actually became good friends!
Much to their dismay I made Dinika and Lameez do a very public burpee at international departures on OR Tambo (as one does) prior to boarding our plane to Munich!
The flight was long and I indulged in watching A Star is Born, secretly balling my eyes out on a full plane seeing that I rarely manage to sleep on any flight (rolling eyes).
We reach Munich and rush to our connecting flight to Berlin – and yup you guessed it, made them do more burpees!
Arriving in Berlin was something special. We were collected at the airport by our beautiful young and super witty driver, Pia, and transported to our hotel. Once settled in most of the group went for a nap, however Lameez and I decided that we cannot possibly nap and promptly got our walking shoes on and hit the road to Checkpoint Charlie. What an experience! We chatted, took photos, shopped and really indulged in being tourists.
Back at the hotel we had to get all dressed up for our welcoming function at the South African Embassy and to meet, greet and interview our ambassador, the honorable Mr Stone Sizane. Needless to say, the South African Embassy is stunning, the food was amazeballs and Mr Sizane was a wonderful interviewee and a very gracious host. Oh yes… and he owns a home in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth – so very passionate about the Eastern Cape as well.
The next day we attended the actual first day of the ITB International Tourism Trade Show. Guys… what an experience! The convention center is the size of a couple of city blocks in South Africa!!! We spent the first three hours just walking around and did not even cover a quarter of the exhibition halls… so I decided to rather concentrate on South Africa and a couple of other African countries displays as I was after all there to cover the South African pavilion mostly.
After two solid days of interviews, filming and networking the hustle and bustle was all over, just like that! So the Friday morning before we had to leave for the airport was dedicated once again to simply being a tourist sightseeing in an amazing historical city.
Off course we went to see the Jewish Memorial, the Parliament buildings and the Brandenburg Gate – and YES folks, off course we did burpees in front of the majestic Brandenburg Gate. Who wouldn’t???
All in all this was a whirlwind, wonderful, awesome and amazing trip! If you do not yet believe in the power of setting intentions, then placing them on either a list of goals or on a vision (or dream) board, and deliberately manifesting your dreams and desires, I dare you to try – then sit back and watch the wildest, most amazing things happen in your life!
So my message to you? Never stop dreaming and believing, never stop living. Live your life to the fullest every single day, dream big – if your dreams do not scare the living daylights out of you, you’re simply not dreaming big enough. Go bigger and bolder, otherwise why bother?
Till next time guys, keep living your adventures and doing life!!!
Lots of love and fabulosity
